What kind of protractors are used for military maps?
Protractors scale to the Military Grid Reference System can be used for military maps, we use its metric system for measuring distance. It features compass degrees on center scale and mils on outer scale, back azimuths on inner scale. This style protractor also represents the azimuth circle. The blank space between 2 lines on the outer edge represents one degree, it is 0 – 360 degrees. We also call the straight line as ” base line ” which point 0 to 180 degrees. The index mark is the right point for base line crossing the horizontal line.
